BMW 3.0CSL

 Ilie Nastase promoting BMW
Title: PYV 905L
History: per AI, this car may have been a dealer car. Ilie Nastase was used to promote BMWs
Per John Castle:
- PYV905L is not one I have come across during our time keeping records.
- It is not held on the DVLA website for that registration number so, in theory does not exist in the UK.
- With an ”L” registration number it was produced in the bracket 1 August 72 to 31 July 73. Nastase was at his peak in 1973.
- It has chrome wheel arches and the CSL black stripes – not fitted to a CSi
- It has Alpina wheels which were standard fit on the 1972-3 CSL BUT optional on the Phase 1 CSi.
- My feeling is that it is a CSL and having Nastase draped over the bonnet made it a dealer car for sale BUT used for this PR picture. It has chrome wing grilles and windscreen wipers but a black radiator centre grille which shows it was a later production VIN
