Title:
Model code: 3452
Exterior color (paint code)
Original equipment:
Factory options
History:
- Car was bought at auction in 2003 and then
prepared for bitumen rallying at Targa Tasmania. It
was last used in 2006 and has been collecting dust
since. The research into its previous history
continues....
- 1992 notes stating that
it is with “A M Restorations” but not the country.
No registration number for the UK either so it might
well have been supplied “directly” to Australia.
- There has been an interesting development in this
respect because we have a number of E9s first
registered in Jersey, a tax free island off the UK
coast. It seems that BMW Concessionaires imported
cars to Jersey to avoid UK import duty which was not
refundable. Concessionaires then sent teams from the
UK to carry out any work before the car was
re-exported to Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong,
Japan or South Africa (all right hand drive). Must
have made them very expensive but the only way, if
you lived in one of those countries, to get a right
hand drive car for which BMW Concessionaires had the
franchise.
